- Over Hickory Nut Gap toward Newland & return. Less than 500 yards of straight, flat surface. Grade is not bad if you live in the High Country. Was part of the Tour DuPont course leading to Beech Mountain. The last 4 miles are downhill.

Relay Groups:
Awards will be presented * as follows:
- Top 3 finishers overall
- Top 3 finishers Masters (40+)
- Top 3 finishers in each Age Group
- Top Relay Team in each Relay Group
- Top 3 finishers in Novice Category
- Top 3 finishers in Clydesdale Category
- Top 3 finishers in Athena Category
* All awards must be collected at the Awards Ceremony.
